What Does "As Is" Mean When You Buy a Used Car?
You will see the words "as is" on many used cars. All of our cars are sold as is, so here is what that means in plain English.
What as is means
As is means the dealer does not give a warranty with the car. If something breaks after you buy it, the repair is your cost, unless you bought a separate warranty or service contract.
Where to find it
Look at the Buyers Guide posted in the car's window. It shows whether the car is sold as is or with a warranty. What it says becomes part of your sales contract.
How to protect yourself
- Take a real test drive.
- Ask for the Carfax report and read the accident history.
- Have your own mechanic check the car before you buy. You are welcome to do this with us.
Extended warranty and service contracts
If you want more peace of mind, you can buy an extended warranty or a service contract for an additional cost. They are optional and never required to buy a car from us. Read what is covered before you decide.
